Practical, handmade warmth
I taught myself to knit in 2001 and haven't been able to stop. My family and friends and I have really enjoyed the handmade items and I want everyone to enjoy quality handmade warmth. Handmade crafts take a long time to knit so I create items that are durable and versatile. If you take care of your item properly, it will last you many, many years. I often use my daughter as a model for my designs so I ensure that my design will grow with her. You can find my work on Ravelry as "aranyita." While the items for sale here are pre-designed, I can also customize my patterns for larger or smaller sizes.
I knit and crochet using yarns obtained in Peru or at my local farmers' markets or other sources that follow sustainable practices and use environmentally-friendly dyes. My local farmers' market carries Catskill Merino yarns. They are beautiful yarns from humanely sheared sheep, minimally processed and tinted with earth-friendly dyes.
I hand wash and block each item and gently clean it with a HEPA vacuum before packaging and sending.
