Knit from Berroco's Sierra yarn, this poncho is made of 85% pima cotton, sprinkled with 15% baby alpaca fibers. Pima cotton fluffs up beautifully with each washing so the poncho will only get softer. You still have to be gentle with washing, however, since alpaca does felt. This combination of fibers makes for a soft and light cover for spring and fall and air-conditioned summer stores.
The sky blue, maize-trimmed poncho measures 25 inches (63.5 cm) in width and 22 inches (56 cm) in height. In two photos, she was 4 foot 8 inches tall. She still wears her poncho and now she is 5 foot 4 (photo with pup).
The cacao brown, and sky blue-trimmed poncho measures 30 inches (76.5 cm) in width and 27 (68.5 cm) inches in height
My Tia Betsa taught me this beautiful "pavo real" stitch. I wrote about this poncho in my blog dated 5/22/15.
